So keywords  Luis Vargas Texas Commerce This search on google yielded my www.maslove4edtech.com  LUIS VARGAS DISD Linkedin page popped up....  and as I kept getting a bit more personal...  Luis Vargas Estrada Monterrey A page of a business I used to have popped up on linkedin..  Then I used my fraternity nickname and an old ongoing collection of poems, short stories appeared.  loscuentos.net/cuentos/local/elrudo37/ This one brought back memories..  it started back on 2006!!! Well this time around it went better than expected, everything that was recent to me came up.  My google site and blogspots. My current search including me new home town showed the school where I work!  The helpful side of this is that I can work on that and expand knowing that when I get searched it does look decent and even professional.  Great 5 weeks and lots of information!  Quick post because not a lot of things came up about me.

WEB 2.0 Tools final blog reflection

Image
What tied the knot was the hyperdocs... Every element of web 2.0 is an extension to what we can do for our kids. Just today we were debating about the usage of technology in the classroom and how some districts are going for the full blown tech optimization.  The confusing was quick settling, from the simple questions of how can we manage that part as a teacher, to the harsh statements that some teachers would rather go back to 100 percent paper and pencil.  But in reality and after further exploring... wait a minute I have always being supportive of technology and further understanding and exploring only gave me more confidence that if applied correctly it can yield great learning dividends!  Elements that are  a must now... In other words you can click the word and link yourself to another page or place in the internets.  What hyperdocs have done with them is put them on steroids. Teachers/Educators have come up with a nicely explainable method of teaching using them.  Before we begin you can start he...

Image
This week we had an assignment to venture into the world of youtube. Yeah! the gargantuan world of youtube but this time with a purpose. Back in the day it was used to watch funny videos and then we had vloggers who would give people a summary of things that happened during a week or even daily.  Youtube allowed for people to have a voice and visual media that allowed the user to create full compositions.  Their affordance is so easy to decode that in no time people are able to use their editing skills and sharpen those videos.  First thing I did was just to search twitter tools on youtube. Marketing is the mother of all these apps that came up.  Tools are meant to help you elaborate good twitts to get that traffic and attraction of readers and followers.  Just a quick observation on one of the tools that got my attention. Google alerts. This tool helps you choose key words that are of interest of your "followers" and once those keywords are found on the i...
