Activities with Creative Tools (Using Jamboard) and Why I like and dislike some edtech tools

Activities with the creativity tools  As an activity using google slides I can split a passage by paragraphs and paste them on slides. We would focus on the main idea and supporting details. Students will work collaboratively, split into groups of 3. They will be in charge of underlining and color coding the details and the main idea per paragraph.  Modification will be the main goal but at the end they will have to use the jamboard and create an illustrated version of the text. Adding illustrations, arrows and their creativity. They will be in charge of  creating material that can be used by them and other students as anchor charts and guiding tools.  They will essentially teach the lesson themselves at the end by incorporating  a video in the jamboard using the camera tool and briefly describing why that is the main idea and details to other students. Theoretically speaking students learn better when they learn from their peers. This lesson will  g...

edtech - creative tools and their uses

The apps that I’m exploring for my students to use creatively are as follows:  Note: i use google apps because they have no restrictions in my district and students grade level. If I had an older audience I would focus my attention to other tools but these are the ones I have quick access with  and are an asset to my teaching tools. Let me know if you find this info interesting or if you have questions on how to integrate it to a lesson, and we can work it out. TPACK, SAMR STYLE!!! Lettuce begin! I'm very punny! I know. .. First tool. Google Slides: The main reason is because I teach 4th grade and they have direct access to it.  Also it keeps their privacy under the district's domain.  There will be no issues, since they will not be able to share their work to anyone outside of the district. What I like about the google docs is that you can easily make a presentation and add it to your google site. That is another google app.  You can create a collaboratio...

eportfolio thinking for 4th grade science

an Eportfolio serves as an all around tool that is devised to engulf a variety of skills under one roof.  For my class to begin thinking of ways on how to use their eportfolio I have to first create introduce the Context in this example we will be working on where does water go after a precipitation.  To deliver the content I use nearpod where I design my lessons using the pdf of the textbook we have for class. Here is a preview of the lesson.  I currently use (Pedagogy, knowledge and content and technology) Nearpod because its affordance allows me to include very important tools to teach. On this nearpod I just used to deliver content and check for understanding. The student job was to take this to another level and make a page on google site that they will display what they learned about TEK 4.7(B) runoff water and then share it with other students for critique or just to expose them to sharing tools and collaboration.  With the us of video and textual cont...

Eportfolio tools: revisited

Eportfolio tools For me the most important thing is to articulate what I have learned about educational technology from my academic , professional and personal experiences. The exponential benefits of being able to purposefully and effectively elaborate on the tools that I currently work with and that make my teaching technique more plentiful are of great grandeur. It will not only show that I am apt for upcoming challenges but also will display a potential of problem solving during my working career and in my working environment.   I would also like to be able to answer any questions that I may have regarding educational technology and that professors have identified and are familiar with. I would like to dwell and venture into their problem solving methods to strategies and be able to identify the troubles they have seen.  As a teacher who is in constant contact with technology this course gives me an idea of how to give my understanding a shape.  Something ...
